Brand New Computer with Vista Premium. Keeps freezing up!?

I just purchased a brand new GateWay computer at Best Buy, with 2GB of memory, and Window's Vista Premium Home Edition installed. I purchased an Anti-Virus, and we have Comcast High Speed internet which, of course, comes with it's own Anti Virus software. It feezes up quite frequently, to the point that I can't push Ctrl-ALT-Delete to restart computer. Could this be the new Vista software working out the bugs. Or is it the antivirus's that are installed. I don't think it's the interenet, because sometimes it freezes up when we are not even logged on to the internet. I'd just like to know if I should call the manufacturer of the computer, the Geek Squad at Best Buy, or someone else. Any thoughts?

One thing you might do is take out the purchased anti-virus program and see what happens. Run belarc to see what you actually have in the computer. It tells all. The cnet and pcworld are sites that are informative sites about computers and Vista problems included.

You might do a restore and go back as far as you can. You have to go step by step. Example, do a complete recovery. Then only load one or two programs that you really need and see what happens. See how the computer runs before you install the other program if it freezes or not. anyway, cnet and pcworld will have stuff on the Vista problems. Next time, list computer model and brand. Some computers are known to have certain problems. Makes it easier to diagnose.
