Got a new laptop and doesnt work properly. the speed is way too slow. suggestions?

the laptop is of compaq v5000.

and it is dead slow it takes 15 mins to open a page then hangs up...i need help.i m desperate.

Sounds like it has some serious hardware issues. If you can take it back..I would suggest doing so...either that or your OS is really really messed up (viruses/spyware etc). You may want to completely wipe it with your manufacturers restore disks before you try and take it back.
