First of all you need to be running a professional version of an operating system. Honestly, xp is not the best for what you are doing. Your system is a lot safer running windows 2000 professional. There are tougher pathways for a virus to get through and you have better networking options and such. Get windows defender; windows malicious software removal tool and every security update available for the operating system and you should be fine. The tools dont do any good if you dont use them, though so make sure you run them daily in you field. I would really recommend running it 2-3 times a day if you are using your system like that. spyware and mcafee or norton wont catch it. the malicious software removal from microsoft windows is best. its most compatible with windows obviously and it will notice software that other programs think is normal running software. also check with windows mobile and see what they offer
