No sound card is the error message but l used to play music in windows media player?

my computer is saying no sound card or no compatible hardware when l want to play music in windows media player. but l used to play my music and my computer was corrupted and l had to reformmat the hard disk ,reinstall software and of course run Norton antivirus.do l have to buy the sound card ? or do l need the techician to install the sound card or l can do it myself?is it possible that the drivers for the sound card are deleted. how do l solve this problem. l miss listening to music?please help

reinstall the sound card driver if not work after reinstalling then change the port of the Sound card from your Mother Bord then reinstall teh driver. It should be worked.
