Do you think software companies genarate thier own viruses so they can sell us antivirus progs.

I don't know about that, sounds just a little bit paranoid to me.

My opinion though, is that the people who write viruses, and those who write the cracks for products like Norton and Windows, must work for these companies. For example, there is a version of NSW out there that comes with a crack process that relies on the telephone activation - how do you write a crack for that without knowing how the software is compiled???? How do you create a new virus without really understanding how the latest anti-viral software and definitions work?

Yes. It's all one big conspiracy. Just like how drug companies generated AIDS, West Nile Virus, and Bird Flu so they can sell more medicine. ;)

There are enough idiots in the world creating them as is, so no need for companies to generate them.

I think its possible, during the quiet months, they have people that are capable of creating viruses there.
