Need help with SpyWare!?

So somehow I downloaded something with spyware so I downloaded SpyBot and AdAware, plus I have Norton Antivirus, and I think I got rid of most of it, but since the spyware attack I have continually had this Yellow triangle icon with an exclamation point in the middle blinking in my lower right hand toolbar. Every few minutes it pops a balloon on to my page telling me "System Alert: Malware threats", click the balloon, and it takes you to a paysite to download some "anti spyware" software. Every once in a while it also takes me to an Internet Explorer page automatically (I use FireFox normally). Plus it gives me popups that are supposed to look like genuine Windows messages. I don't think they are genuine because they say something to the effect of "There is spyware infecting you computer". Emphasising it says "you" rather than "your". Anyway it's annoying, how can I fix it?
